Lock recommendations please

I'm after a lock that I can put on the bike for use when I'm out riding and need to either nip into a public toilet, or a shop to grab supplies or a cafe/pub.

I know decent locks are fairly heavy, so I think I'm asking a lot when I say that I'm after a lightish lock but one that will be secure enough for me to answer the call of nature or grab some food/drink at a shop/cafe.

Does such a thing exist? What does everyone else do in these situations?

I'm starting to extend the mileage I'm doing so I know that if I'm on a 5 hour ride for example, 2 things will happen: 1 - I will finish the 2 bottles I carry on the bike (and therefore will need to stop to buy water) and 2 - All that drink will need to go somewhere, so I know I'll have to stop somewhere to answer the call of nature.

Any recommendations/solutions gratefully received.

I'm new on the scene and wanted some lock recommendations too, probably thinking of a D lock as well as the kryptonite cable thing. Any highly thought of locks that won't need me to start fundraising events to afford?

    I have one of these

It won't stop anyone who has any tools but is enough to stop someone just riding off on your bike while you nip in the shop.

I have seen those before. I know it wouldn't take much to break it, but is it strong enough for a shop stop?

I think it is. I wouldn't leave my bike locked up for a long period of time with it, but for a minute or two while you pop in a shop it's fine. Anything that is more substantial would be bigger than I would want to carry.

I have one of these combiflexs. Advantage it is light and can go into the saddle bag.
it is only a 2mm cable, so a pair of plyers or a very big tug of the bike may snap the cable.
Do a determined bike theif will hvae no problem stealing the bike with one of these.

However, for the more general scum it is a deterent. So for a "pop" to the toilet / cafe it will give you a few minutes of piece of mind.

When I goto a public loo - I take my bike in with me

i use one like the abus for cafe stops, really just acts to prevent snatch and run/ride, small cutters would easily cut the cable

it's a shame there's not a similar one with a kevlar or pbo cord wrapped by the steel cable, then it'd be harder to cut with a single tool
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

I know that locking the frame is one thing, but with QR wheels, I could come back to the bike with frame intact but wheels gone.

Does anyone have any advice for good locking skewers?
