hey guys,

Not really sure if this is the right place to post this but...

I just was able to acquire a Colnago Dream Lux frame with the Airplane tubing. She's a beaut! Really love the fame already. Now I'm planning to build it up and was wondering about 2 things that I can not really find out at the moment:

Whats the Bottom Bracket size?
And whats the Size of the Head tube?

Cheers tyler

BB will almost certainly be Italian.

Headset size will depend on the model year as they were produced in both 1" and 1.125" - measure the diameter of the fork steerer to get the size.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Measure the inside diameter of the headtube - a 1" is 30mm whereas 1.125" is 33.8mm. I do suggest that you try and source a Colnago fork as the offset is slightly different from other makes and helps contribute to the handling - they're not too common and prices aren't cheap even 2nd hand.

Gorgeous! Is there a matching fork?

Would look great with Campag Athena on there (in fact any Campag groupset) and some nice shiny wheels :)

    Thanks for that :)
Will measure it as soon as i can get my hands on some measuring tools ;)

Yeah, already looked at the prices of the colnago forks on ebay and i didnt see one yet that was in my price range or fitting my frame.

Was thinking of getting a enve for fork to go with it if i dont find a fitting colnago one

    cheers for the help guys!

ps. will probably be building it up with sram red ;)

NO, don't get an Enve fork, find a Colnago star or force or whatever was on the Dream at the time imo.

    Sram red? Good grief ...

I've had Red, it's fine. I'm sure the latest iteration is better. It would look so out of place on that frame which is screaming out for Campagnolo or 7800 / 7700 dura ace. It would look like a cobbled together mismatch.

the more i'm looking at the Campagnolo the more you seem to have a point ;)

and about the pizza: I'm all about anchovies and capers!
