Sold my MTB and ready to grab a road bike. However, some makes I've heard of, some I haven't so much.
Here's what I've dug out:
Ridley @ £500
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=104894
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=104651
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=104893
Boardman @ £585 (650-10% discount online)
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_789253_langId_-1_categoryId_165710
Jamis @ £600
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/jamis/ventura-comp-2013-road-bike-ec041507
I don't know what else is out there with good value for money as I'll also want some gear too which I'm reserving some cash for.
Thanks for advice

Would it be worth looking at Ribble?0

That Jamis is now £500, and definately the one I'd choose. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

The Jamis is £599 so that is £600 unless someone can see discounts I cannot. However, if it was my money I would buy the Jamis because it looks better spec'd. Wiggle might want you to believe that the Ridley's are 50% discount but no-one would ever pay £1,000 for a bike with 2300 groupset. To be honest even £500 looks dear when you compare it with the Triban 3.
Of course having said that riding the bikes is the only way to really separate them.

I swear I'm not going crazy and misread it massively when I opened the link earlier, I'd still go for the Jamis based on spec, test rides are massively important either way.And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

The spec of the Triban 3 has been downgraded, so it's not the bargain it used to be. But if there's a Decathlon near you and your budget is £600, then the Triban 5 or 7 would be worth checking out. Triban 5 - Alu frame/carbon fork/2013 Sora = £430. Triban 7 - Alu frame/carbon fork and seat stays/Tiagra = £600.
Or a Triban 5 and upgrade the wheels to Mavic Aksiums, which are £140 in Decathlon but they'll probably take the price of the standard wheels off that if you upgrade them.0 -

What about this: http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/products/cannondale-caad8-sora-13
I have a 15% voucher for this store which I think he said can be used (unless it's just off their own brands)0 -
