Decent wet weather tyre needed

I'm after a new rear tyre for my winter/wet weather bike, just wondering if there are any decent options other than the usual michelin pro4 endurance / continental gp4000s / gp 4 seasons?

I use touring tyres for the job... my favourite is Vittoria Randonneur PRO, which comes all the way down to 23 mm I reckon... I use the 32 ones and you should probably look at something in between.
You can run them at low pressure (I use 60-70 PSI on mine) for extra grip, they are virtually puncture free and they last for many thousand miles... for the job, they are infinitely better than any road tyre... of course you compromise a bit of rolling resistacne and weight, but not a lot.

I have tried many road tyres before, the usual Gatorskins, GP 4 seasons and stuff, but they simply don't compare with a decent touring tyre

I've used Vittoria Open Pave (the ones with the green stripe) throughout the winter. Whilst not cheap I really appreciated the sense of security they gave on wet roads, especially cornering. They cut up a fair bit to begin with and I had a couple of punctures but after that they've been a joy for thousands of kilometres.

No, the smallest they get is 32mm not 23mm, that is the Vittoria Randoneur PRO.

In my opinion the most durable and puncture resistant tyre you can put on a winter bike is the schwalbe Marathon Plus in 700x25. They are not amazing in the gravel but last for many thousand miles (5000 miles +), I haven't had a puncture, yet, and are reasonably good in the wet. You can also run them at relatively low pressures.

    .

Then it is the Vittoria Randonneur that come down in size and not the PRO one... the difference is only they are not folding, hence a bit heavier... I have definitively seen the Randonneur in small sizes

Yes, the normal Randonneur goes down to 25mm which is pretty good. I know because my wife uses that, and it is cheap at £15 a tyre.
