So there I was on Saturday at 9pm, 50m from the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury awaiting the greatest festival gig of all time from the Rolling Stones...

Was making my way back from the loo which inevitably pisses a few people off. Wearing shorts, lions shirt and a Morvelo a Bloc cycling cap (peak turned up) and some bloke squared up to me, asked if I was a cyclist, to which I said yes, and he then went on a foul mouthed rant along the lines of "Have you f*~@][ng read the Velominati rules you c^nt, you're wearing a cycling cap and you're not on your bike."

He'd either had not enough cider, or a little too much, but that was the last place in the world I imagined an anal road cyclist bringing up rule #22 "Cycling caps are for cycling".

I kept it on obviously.

Velominati t*ssers are so up themselves. I'd do it to pee them off even more. Its a sport. Its fun. Who bloody cares about dress code ? Or would they rather we were all still in black alpaca and riding at the crack of dawn ?

The Velominati website clearly states that the Rules are to be taken tongue in cheek; it's the tossers who seem to forget this that you should be ranting at.

Cycling caps may be for cycling. But cycling caps with the peak turned up are for jockeys, no one else.

I wouldn't worry about it. He sounds like the kind of tosser who would pay good money to listen to Mumford & Sons.

Haha...what a weirdo! Fair play for keeping it on...I know a couple of people that are so proud of their vintage cycling jerseys, that they wear then on nights out...the rear pockets come in very handy for carrying multiple packets of crisps and nuts...whilst carrying a few pints!!!

Genius - never thought of that. Look out for me in my St Raphael top from Prendas and feel free to nick my salt and vinegars from my LH pocket as long as I'm carrying at least three pints!

Pffft - I was wearing my bike top out clubbing almost 30 years back when it was cool. Aah those were the days.
