Ozonetherapy rider banned for 2 years.

For the first time ever a Belgian prof rider Pieter Van Herck who rides for the Landbouw Krediet team was banned for 2 years for having ozonetherapy in 2011. The Belgian cycling federation decided that ozonetherapy although not officially classed as doping according to the UCI, is performance enhancing and therefore deserves a ban.

Wonder how widely this has been used in the Peleton? Reading that, it appears as though there are significant long term health implications. Having it introduced via the rectum doesn't sound pleasant either! :shock:

Apparently word from inside the Belgian cycling federation says that there are several cases being investigated at the moment with cross rider Tom Meeusen being the most prominent name mentioned.

surely if it not officially banned they can't do anything.....seems wrong !
coffee ? caffeen is enhancement drug but not banned...........
