Hi all,
Just about to order a new CF seat post:

I need to know what tools I need to fit this to my CF frame, a torgue wrench, spanner or something, and also would people recommend some kind of lube?
Thanks in advance

This or something similar, smaller sachets on Chain Reaction

That should save you over-tightening, but you can use common sense instead.
When you put it in, don't slide it down further than you'll need it, or you will likely mark it and then when you raise it back up you'll have scratches on your expensive new carbon post.0 -
Great, thanks for your help!0

The carbon paste is not essential. It provides added friction so you do not have to tighten the seat clamp as much. But in reality you can do without it.
The Finish Line one seems to be particularly course. This is obviously good for friction but can be a little too thick for some seat post/seat tube combos.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
Thanks for the info!
Would you say that a torque tool is required for tightening, or is it easy enough to judge by feel?0 -
I do not personally use one but it depends how confident you feel (I have spannered on motorcycles for 20 years).
I know of shops even, that have cracked the seat tube by over tightening, so it is easily done.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
Thanks, probably best to pick one up then, for the future as well.0
