Driving from Liverpool to the midlands this morning and all of a sudden, bang, engine popped and clouds of smoke everywhere.
I couldnt do anything so decided to continue and drove all the way back, when I got back the engine cut out and of course wont be starting again :)

Its only the second time this has happened to me, the first when I was 19. Not a good feeling.

Shouldnt this be on Pistonheads or someplace similar?

    What car is it?
Scott Speedster S20 Roadie for Speed
    Specialized Hardrock MTB for Lumps
    Specialized Langster SS for Ease
Cinelli Mash Bolt Fixed for Pain

I blew the head gasket on my first car, a Renault 5, on the M62! No temperature gauge, just an intermittent warning light like an elderly glow-worm which I ignored just once too often  Good old RAC!

    Here's one I did earlier  ...

That's one end of an exhaust valve in the foreground and a hole in the top of the piston where I pulled it out from

Definitely, the M62 does not even go to the Midlands.

I thought this was powered by elastic bands.

Sorry to hear about the engine VTech. I suspect with the cars that you drive a replacement isn't going to come cheap.

I like the resigned look of - The goes another muppet needing a tow out of the field.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.
