Rear Mech Issue

I've just completed a Coast to Coast journey, during which I had a rear mech issue. When going along a narrow path, I heard a strange noise and was unable to change gear. The cable coming from/to the mech was loose. I unscrewed the mech, pulled the cable tight, and screwed it back in. This seemed to solve the problem. My question is, is it actually solved, or should I get somebody to look at it, do you think?

Good question. It seems to be fixed but I've never encountered it before. I was checking to see whether anybody had experienced something similar and then all was well...0
