Which light short travel xc bike...?

Hello 8)

I sold the Juliana last week literally days before I rode 55 miles of the South Downs Way (on the 5). It hurt. A lot.

As a result I am now on the hunt for a Juliana replacement - needs to be (relatively) light enough for xc racing, full susser (with good suspension!), about 100mm travel and a frame that caters for shorties. It'll be a second hand buy as i'm also planning a more all-mountain build which will be a little more costly...

So far on my list I have:

Scott Spark
Yeti ASR
Spesh Epic
Cube AMS

What have I missed?

Thanks! :D

Canyon worth a look, unbeatable specs and weights for the cash.

Astonishing spec for the money ie X0 drivetrain, Mavic Crossmax SLR wheels and so on.

Can't praise the Anthem highly enough. Light, fast and huge fun. When I get another bike, it'll be another another Anthem, a 29er.

Oooh, thanks guys, some ones I hadn't considered there :D

Sticking to old school 26" wheels on this one (largely because I am only 5ft 4 and also because I need to buy cheaply, second hand).

Anthem, i'm 5"6 and with a 16" frame it's a perfect fit for me they do go down to XS as well.

    +1

I've had one for over 4 years now and it's a blast - ideal for pretty much anywhere in the south/SE of England.

And me, absolutely love my bike. It dominates up and down hill and is great on trails.

I ride occasionally with Ben Neaves who does rather well in the Hope XC series (lost out ay Lee due to a Puncture) he swears by his Anthem.....

Anthems are heavier than similarly specced bikes, but certainly popular.
