Should I replace my steel forks?

I have a Carrera TDF, alloy frame with steel forks. Would changing the forks to carbon make a noticeable difference? I like the way the bike rides at the moment but that is comparing it with my mountain bike. I have already changed a few things and forks may be next :)

I've just done it on my old-ish commuter, I pranged the old steel ones and paid £95 for some carbon replacements (1" steerer, 1 1/8 can be had for less). Some weight has come off the bike, it feels more lively (as in, it makes me want to get out of the saddle and give it some welly) and I do like the way carbon soaks up road buzz. However, is that worth your cash? Only you can decide...

I wouldn't bother. If you want to save weight / improve the ride then your money is best spent on wheels / tyres IMO. Steel is a great material for forks.

    I wouldn’t bother either.

In fact I haven't bothered - I have a 631 framed bike that I occasionally mull over changing the forks on. But it will only shave a couple of hundred grams off the weight and the steel forks ride nicely.

I have another steel frame that came with carbon forks and can't really tell the difference in weight. In fact the all steel bike is the nicer (and faster) of the two!
