There is quite a lot of lateral movement coming from the shock area on my cannondale rz 140.
I have replaced all the bolts/bearings apart from the long pivot bolt, which when I removed it
there seamed to be a washer missing.is it likely to be this that's the problem and can I get these from
any bearing supplier?

i would be talking to your local Dale dealer.

Went through a similar process with mine. The main pivot bolt was in a right state but the bearings seemed OK and replacing them didn't do anything for the slight amount of play. I replaced seat stay bearings and pivots and shock bushes but it was still there. Next step was to replace the shock link itself £28 end of problem (the shock mounting holes were slightly ovalised). Has been fine ever since (2010)

Should be able to get one from any Cannondale dealer try Leisure Lakes or Qwerty Cycles.
  • ok thanks for that mate, think that was the last resort.
