Did I receive wired or folding Gatorskins

I just took delivery of a new Gatorskin. I ordered the folding version. I already have a new, unused wired Gatorskin.

The "folding" one looks exactly the same as the wired one and the sidewall markings/numbers look the same.

The wired one has a stuck on, wrap around label confirming its spec, the "folding" one never came with this so I only have the markings on the sidewall to go on.

I looked on the Continental website and they do have different part numbers but neither of the tyres seem t have this on them.

Have I been ripped off? How can I tell?

Wired tend to be in shape already (Big Circle)

    Whereas folding tyres are folded.

The links below should display this more clearly.

When I order Schwalbe Ultremos they were folded like this: http://www.flatoutcycles.co.uk/ekmps/sh ... 6292-p.jpg

Whereas I've had wired Bontrager hard cases which came like this:

Take a bit of the wire/folding bead, and try to bend it. If it folds in half, it's a folding tyre. If it's pretty solid and won't fold then it's wire bead.

DHTT. Well, this new "folding tyre arrived kind of between the two examples you posted. Sort of a double circle secured by tiewraps. Definitely not tightly folded.

declan1. I tried the folding method of testing you suggested... it's pretty solid and won't tightly bend.

I feel some communication is due to the supplier.

You have the wired version. Folding a wirded tyre up like that is bad form. I refuse to post wire bead tyres unless they go a proper boxes as I will not fold them. They are no meant to be folded, that's just me though.

Definitely phone the supplier up and ask for a refund!
