Mine would have to be gears slipping. Just horrible. Thankfully this rarely happens for me but when it does it makes me mad!!

All the above, but the most annoying one (to me) isn't when something breaks - it's a rubbing front mech! Did a sportive yesterday and the noises and rattling coming from most peoples bikes really started to get to me!
I'll spend hours indexing mine to get it right! :shock:0 -
All these little noises, that you can't trace but keep you busy for hours at home.
But the worst ever:
The sound of sand between chain and a chainwheel with a rough surface, amplified by large tubes of an alloy frame. Almost worse than sand between your teeth.
PS: I think "Pfft .... pffft ... pffft" sounds quite nice, if you ignore the consequences...0 -
Any noise I can't identify the cause of. Spent about two hours once trying to work out what the intermittent 'clink clink' sound was. Turned out to be two allan keys in my pocket knocking together...0

Thunder.
The "on yer right!" that immediately proceeds being passed by the fast club run you've killing yourself to stay ahead of for the past 5 minutes, knowing full well that if they pass you'll be faced with the choice between tagging on in proper spare-pr*ck-at-the-wedding style, or dropping back to an irritating distance simply for the sake of not tagging along.
The metallic clatter that heralds the arrival of rapidly descending MTBs on the trail you're currently climbing thereby signalling a choice of pulling over (boo!) or a trip to A&E (Ow! Boo!).
The bloke in front letting out the sort of fart normally associated with rutting hippos.Mangeur0 -
The sound of a rear mech going through your spokes as you come to a sudden halt0
-
The sound of nothingness when you go to apply your brakes and the cable snaps
It was a mtb but still definitely an "oh shit" moment0 -
Noisy cleats creaking or front mech rubbing. Grrrrr...
Some freewheels on the club run get me too. Some are just too loud.
Speaking of other peoples bike noises, brake squeal! Seriously if you don't sort that out at the cafe stop I'm going to push you into the hedge the next time it happens. It's just an unexecptable noise on a road bike.0 -
Not so much a noise, but I hate when a rider in front during a club ride does not get his phlegm spit or nose clean quite right and somehow it ends up on me.

Several options ...
1) Pssst as a tube deflates ..
2) The grind of an unindexed gear
3) The squeak of the cleat against pedal
but the most annoying so far is a noise from an unknown source ....0 -
The 'ping' from the spokes as one snaps.
Happened once so far this year (rear) and now convinced its about to happen to the front (had to true my wheel on Sunday). The bike has taken a beating over the winter on dark potholed roads though.0 -
That annoying clicking noise my bike has developed over the last couple of rides whenever I press too firmly on the right hand pedal0

I can second this advice. Just done the same. Pedal not tight enough and a bit of lithium grease and noise-be-gone.0 -

Cateye Strava knocking, and chain on front mech - which I quickly adjust.0
