Hi,
Just popped into my local bike shop to finally order a 2013 Allez Sport and they told me that the 2014 models are due out on 1st July. They don't know any of the details of spec or colours though.
Does anyone know anything about the new line up? It seems mad that they don't know anything with them supposedly being out in 2 weeks but apparenly Specialized keep it pretty quiet!?
(I'm in the UK btw)

Not sure about the new line up mate, but hope they gave you a very decent discount if they know your order will be 'last season' in a matter of weeks! Sometimes you can save substantial amounts when all that has changed is the colour of the next model.
I have just ordered a Scott Foil 20 which should cost £2900 and got it for £2150.

I didn't order the 2013, they wouldn't have been able to supply it anyway as Spec have no stock so there's only what's left dotted round or bought up by people like Evans cycles. I decided to wait the 2 weeks and see what the new line up is like and what has changed.0

I am in the same boat, I am waiting for the new Roubaix Elite 2014 8)0

Have you been told 1st July also? I can't get a response from Specialized UK.0

I've sent one to the Chester concept store this morning, hopefully will get some sort of response as they've been good in the past. That is unless they're still in the dark or have been told to keep quiet.
Been hearing rumours of a late July unveil (end of the TdF) with availability a while after that, not sure I can wait that long!0 -
I just sent a quick message on twitter to Specialized and they informed me it was just around the corner...
I'll try and get more out of them.0 -

Here's the Allez Sport in Saxo colours. Seems to be the same spec and price is now £750.

I ended up getting a second hand Tarmac off eBay0 -
Not sure how reliable the specs are on here, but Topgear Cycles (an Aussie site) seems to have details: http://www.topgearcycles.com/?s=2014+al ... pe=product
The Sport model seems to have changed very little if at all, but the base at least sees some real shifters (2400) rather than the thumb button.
It's hard to comment on the colours, since they'll no doubt be different in the UK. Anyone else have any thoughts?0 -
Noticed Wheelies.com are showing the new 2014 Allez range on their site now. The basic Allez with the Shimano Claris system is only £600. Claris looks a big improvement over 2300, although it's still entry level. More importantly the paintwork on the new models is much improved over last years models - Ok, I'm shallow, I know!!
Can't wait to see what the Secteur looks like this year.0 -
Yeah the standard Allez colours are great, really like the black/red.
I don't think I could get the Saxo/Tinkoff colour scheme for the Sport, I just don't like team coloured bikes despite it being a nice example, same as team jerseys I suppose. The satin grey is really nice though, although I think satin works a lot better on a carbon frame.0 -
Just realised there's been a small price increase, last years base Allez was £550, although an extra £50 for a better mech isn't the end of the world. It's the £750 Specialized want for a Sora equipped bike thats a bit much. I reckon the black satin Allez sport will look better in the flesh, Wheelies also seem to have that model in stock so an official announcement must be just around the corner.0

Some concept stores have stock as well, just nothing officially announced yet.0

I can't see any 'Allez Elite' though... Maybe they're just about to release a new sub 1K road bike!...0

The thing to bear in mind with bikes and the relative years is that each year the spec usually goes DOWN not up so that the price point can stay the same. That is why you will see bikes typically drop in groupset each year, as well as things like wheel spec and components. Hence, one year it is 105 and branded wheels and the next year the same model becomes Tigra with OEM wheels...oh, and a new paint job.
Personally, I would look out for the actual spec of the next year model, work out what is the better bike) this year or next year) and then get down the shop to buy the best one all round...0 -

Hi Mick
Can I ask where did you get the deal on the 2013 Scott Foil 20 at £2150? I am close to a deal but nowhere near this price, so before I buy it would be great to get the name of the company.
Thanks Titch0 -

I tried to email Specialized store in Bristol as the 2013 56cm is out of stock, no reply!
Ian.
The Specialized store in Bristol has closed (along with four other Zero G stores). Don't expect a reply from them any time soon!0
