what bike carrier?

Have a puegeot 307 hatch,what's the best solution for carrying a road bike on roof,I don't have the side longtitude bars like on a SW,and they are mega money to buy,so can I buy bars that mount into the existing fixing points on roof and if so where is the cheapest place to get??links wud be good and if anyone got for sale let me know,don't like the racks that attach to back of car but maybe I'm wrong :?
