Tight *rs* with wide foot needs shoes

I'm looking for a new pair of shoes (my Aldi ones aren't looking so good now, and possibly never did). Must be spd cleats as I mostly commute and need to stop a lot, and often need to walk round a supermarket on my way home. I'd also like something that looks 'roady-ish' for longer weekend rides.
My internet searches have found:
Specialized BG sport tourer
Mavic 2013 Cyclo Tour Road Shoe
Shimano RT32
I've tried on the Specialized and Shimano but they are quite tight on my fat feet. Does anyone know if the Mavics are wide, or have any other suggestions? I'm hoping to spend less than £80.
Thank you.

I have slightly wide feet - too many years wearing flip flops.
I have a pair of Mavic MTB shoes in size 45 (my normal size) which fit fine but aren't the widest. They are racer style carbon ones though so not sure if that would make a difference.
I am currently using DBH tri shoes on my roads bikes. (Same size) which have a wider toe box than the Mavic and are nice and comfy. Also good value. I went for the cheaper pair at about £40 but I believe they do a carbon soled pair for about £80. They do the a road version too for the same price.0 -
Try Diadora - I have wide feet and they tend to fit me pretty well. You can find Diadora Escape MTB shoes for around £40 - they look like road shoes but with extra tread on the bottom. Velcro only though, no ratchet...0

If you have wide feet that are also fat then you should definitely be trying on some Northwaves.
(Specialized and Mavics to me tend to be similar, although the heel on Mavics fits differently, but they are sort of in the same ballpark from what I remember. Shimano forget it, they are narrower than Specialized generally).0 -
Spend the extra £40 and order yourself a pair of wide fit Bonts - you won't regret it0

What are they like for walking around Tesco?
Likewise, the Bontrager - which ones, and will I slip over in Tesco?0 -
I have wide feet and my current Northwaves are the best shoes i've ever had. They are road shoes but i'm pretty sure all Northwaves will be built on similar last shapes so definitely worth a go.0

If there's a possibility to try the shoes on before deciding what is most comfortable then I'd always recommend doing so since everyone has different size / shape feet so it's hard to gauge on the forum. If you don't have any luck with the shoes that you are looking at above then the Avenge "Maxi" from Mavic could be a consideration, offering more volume and width across the toe-box. Good luck!Mavic Community Manager0

What size are you? Limited sizes left but Evans have the Scott Boa Trail shoe on a hefty reduction at the moment.
