Thinking of replacing my 06 Tarmac

I've got a 2006 Tarmac Comp, 105, with a few upgrades that weighs in at 17lbs (7.75kg) with pedals. Its the best bike I've ever owned and its great to ride. I've always loved getting on it after riding my Giant SCR training bike. It has barely been used considering its age and is in great nick.

But my head has been turned, and it is 7 years old.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of:

Canyon SLX or Aeroad
Focus Izalco
Planet X N2R
2012 Tarmac Expert (LBS has one for £2150 down from £3k)
Or something more exotic second hand (a couple of years old and immaculate)

So, how much better are these bikes?! Subjective I know. Weight wise, I'm sure the 2012 Tarmac felt quite a bit heavier than my current bike, any ideas hows the others will fair weight wise?

Any other suggestions?

I'll use the bike for good weather rides, some 3rd cat racing (maybe a stab at getting to 2nd), maybe a European holiday the odd TT and Tri leg.

Marginal gains. They'll probably feel slightly more responsive (stiffer), you wont be any faster on them though (providing your fit on your current bike is good).

Get one though, Focus or Canyon look bloody good!

Have you made many modifications to your tarmac '06 ?

I've changed the wheels, stem, saddle and post.

Why not select a frame and move the parts over(with a few more upgrades). Most 'stock' bikes never have all the right parts on.

I was going to say a similar thing.
With the experience you must now have, get one built up. Either sourcing the bits yourself or there are plenty of outfits to do it all for you. Buying off the peg can be a bit of a waste of money unless you can get a large discount.
