Hello,
I'm currently looking to buy a road bike and don't have much disposable income to throw at it. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this Diamondback DBR Pursuit 700C Bike;

There is another option I've seen reviewed on bikeradar which has a 3 1/2 star rating which is the Claud Butler Criterium;
http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/claude-butl ... ke-p201958
I will be using the bike for commuting to and from work (about 6 miles) and general use, nothing to vigorous. I've also been looking at size guides and they all seem to conflict. I am 5'11", does anyone know what size frame I should be looking for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Chris

Having read more more reviews I think it will be beneficial to put a bit more money in and get the Triban 3 everyone seems to like;

On the site they current have a 60 cm frame, would this be the right size for me? I'm 5'11"

I bought this as my first bike and it was a big mistake. Price wise – this appears a good buy, the bike has several problems.
The main issue (unless your fit as Lance Armstrong) is the gearing. Most bikes use compact cranks, 50/34 is pretty normal which means you have a good range of gears to climb hills. The gearing on the PBR is 52/42 with 28/24 freewheel.
You just run out of gears on any decent hill, unless you intend to ride on flat roads or live in Norfolk don’t buy this bike.
The build quality is ok, you can tell the components are cheap, the gear change position means you constantly change gear with your knee when standing and the bakes are not up to the job on steep descents.
I would spend the extra £200 and buy a decent £400 entry bike. Cutting costs is not the answer if you intend to ride over 50 miles a week.0 -

I was just about to mention this very bike!
Try and get the 'Red' edition if you can, has carbon forks and I belive marginally better componentry.
My brothers gf is 5ft 7 and rides a 54. My personal opinion is that a 57 would likely be the size for you, but I would try and get to a store to try some out if at all possible.
Good customer service from my local Decathlon too.
Edit: Here's the red
