Specialized footbeds in Sidi shoes..

Hi,

This may well sound an obvious question (apologies), but would say a size 45 Specialized after-market footbed and shims fit directly into a size 45 Sidi shoe? There are of course size differences between the two brands in terms of shoes and so I'm wondering if size 45 sidi shoes would in reality require 43 insoles (43-ish being my respective size in Spesh shoes). Ordering online so wanted to hear from somebody with experience before ballsing it up!

Thanks,
Mike

The new version of Specialized insole is 44/45 with a trim line for the 44. It should fit the 45 sidi with a bit of trimming, the Specialized sizing is slightly bigger than the Sidi.

Just measured mine and the Specialized 44/45 untrimmed (so basically 45!) is the same length as the Sidi 46. So I think it is fair to assume a 44/45 trimmed to a 44 will fit a Sidi 45.

Its a shame spez changed their sizing - the old one fitted spot on for sidi (1 size up for shoe size) iirc. I personally wouldn't use in shoe shims, but if you do you will need to factor in space for those. if your current shoe, with standard sidi insert fits like a glove I think you might be pushed to get an insert in aswell as the footbed, especially if you didn't go for the mega sizing.
