I've always found it easier to do manuals than wheelies. Not tried on the road bike except for when bunny hoping over obsticles.0

does going over the handle bars count ?? or is that just a mucked up stoppie
Came off and front crank teeth sliced through the back of my shoe, lucky did not get my Achilles tendon.
Never managed on a road bike but done on the MB in my youth---

Peter Sagan did a no handed wheelie in the middle of a tour de france stage0

I can wheelie my MTB quite well, (300m +), but I can't do it on the road bike, just doesn't feel right, and unlike the pros I would have to pay for a crumpled front wheel or medical care for my scraped up back....! I also have a lot of seat to bar drop, which doesn't help, but then so does Peter Sagan.....0

Pretty epic video - Made it looks so so easy - I can wheelie a MTB (Just) but on a road bike no chance, and to be fair don't fancy trying to due to the massive repair bill I could imagine if it goes wrong0 -
I cant do wheelies, but a few months back when a car pulled out right in front of me I did a cartwheel over the bonnet remaining clipped in the whole time! if i could have landed on the wheels and carried on I could have died happy! As it was I landed on the tarmac!!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

Yup - done that at a roundabout when someone never gave way and like you, I too hit the deck. Haven't quite got the motivation to try a second time !0 -
On a club ride I saw some teens on mtb and one did a wheelie non stop for a good 400-500m from one end of the road to the other. We were all stopped and just watched him and he made it look so easy!Scott Speedster S20 Roadie for Speed

Saw someone doing a long wheelie on a Boris bike recently.0

I can, but I used to do plenty of freestyle BMX as a kid (even on the telly once).0

I find that my 1st gear is too high (39-25) to get a wheelie started, not that I've tried much! Certainly not like my ancient townsend mountain bike as a kiddie, a good wheelie felt great!Edinburgh Revolution Curve

Funny really, as a kid I could do a wheelie and jump back to my feet without any hands when laying on the floor and now I cant do anything!Scott Speedster S20 Roadie for Speed

As kids growing up on a council estate in London we used to build what we called 'track bikes', which were very similar to cycle speedway bikes. They had very low gearing, single speed with a flip/flop rear so fixed or freewheel. For fun we used to have wheelie races around the estate, which was over a mile per lap! The rules were drop the front wheel and you were out. Eventually we stopped as it got to the point where we could all wheelie for as long as we liked....
Was relatively easy once you had mastered getting the front up high enough to get your C of G above the rear axle. Fixed made it even easier to control when up. Not going to try some 30+ years later o my road bike. Mind you I'm riding a VTTA 50 mile TT this afternoon....would make a spectacular and I suspect unique finish to such an event on my Scott Plasma!

haha I think even Sagan would struggle to wheelie his TT bike!0 -
I have to report that my tunnel vision whilst in the red zone as I crossed the finish line earlier today meant I forgot to try. Could well have caused heart failure for the rather old timekeepers....and me come to that!
