I have just been looking at the Merlin website for some new bits and I noticed this:

http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/b ... -bike.html

I am in no way affiliated with Merlin just happened to notice this bike and thought its worth sharing.

For less than £1200 you get a Carbon road bike with full carbon fork , Sram Force gruppo inc brakes and a FSA K Force Carbon chainset plus decent Fulcrum wheels with GP4000 tyres !!!

I reckon the same setup on a Trek/Specialised/Giant etc would run you well over 2k, the Carbon chainset along is over £200 and the gruppo would run you over £700.

Can someone lend me £1200 please :)

Fantastic value there! Especially when you compare it to their lovely Sensa Giulia bikes, which look great and got a good review in Cycling Plus recently. Drool...

For that price I'd go for one of these http://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/frames ... 12-p194662 and stick a cheaper groupset on it. Or, more likely, spend more and put some nice grey Ultegra on it!

That is a bit of a steal. I think they also had some Addict frames at a similar price. Shame that I could bring myself to ride a bike called Scott as they are supposedly great frames and pro team quality. Definitely a bargain for someone.

I was riding Scott the other day. It was a hard ride, I'm going to use better rubbers to ease the ride next time because my bum is sore. Scott goes well, stiff but rewarding, always makes me finish strong.

    And so on so forth.

Nice find though people. I too wouldnt refuse charity to the tune of £1200.

That is amazing value tbh. Just clicked buy on that. Best part is it looks similar enough to my current speedster 20 frame that my wife won't notice. Happy days. :D
  • Did anyone actually buy this Merlin Force Roadbike from Merlin? Any ride reports? Really interested myself...
