Chainring BCD

A quick question to those more knowledgable than I. I have a single speed chainring 42t at 135BCD, if I were to increase the size to say a 46/48 would that increase the BCD of the chainring, and therefore mean I would have to change the crank arm 'spider'

All feedback appreciated

Thanks
