Got some Ceramic bearings for my Campag Euruseseses. Fitted them a year ago and then I have just reagreased them and cleaned them up seen as I am a little paranoid about my very expensive small greyish brown balls. (Ooooer) Changed the cones at the same time as I fitted the bearings.

However, apparently you are supposed to use a light oil but I have seen no evidence of any wear whatsoever.

So, should I ?

full ceramic bearings - balls and races - you can run dry, or just a smidge of oil, for cycling they'll be far from their limits

hybrids - ceramic balls and steel races - either oil or grease, both get recommended by hydrid bearing suppliers, if any water or crud gets in it'll be the steel that needs the protection not the balls
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
