Defy2, 1 or scott speedster?

Hi I'm looking at getting my first road bike i could probably stretch to the £1000 mark.

Worth the extra over the defy 2 http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bik ... 833/56805/
Or perhaps Scott speedster 20 http://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/p ... ZjomrWR-8A
I know there are other bikes but these are what my LBS has. There is also Halfords and Lapiere or Merida i could look at.
Any suggestins apprectiaated.

The Defy is designed more for sportives ie more upright while the Speedster has a more aggressive frame geometry. They are pretty different so it would be worth test riding both to see which you prefer, both are good bikes at this price point but it's more important you choose the one that suits you rather than based on spec.2013 Canyon Ultimate AL 7.0

I am planning on trying out the Scott and the Defy this week - Same shop so is easy to do.
Is the Defy1 worth the extra? This is my first bike0
