frame swapping.
Hi there. Im new to this forum so if I post this in the wrong place Im sorry.
I currently own a 2012 Cube Aerium pro triathlon bike but I want to get a "normal" road bike instead. I have tried to sell the CUBE but nobody wants to buy it for the price I want for it and Im not willing to go down in price.
Im thinking that mayby I could buy a new road frame and just swap the frames. Would the specs thats on the cube make any sense on a road frame??
This link shows the CUBE and the specs:

And this is the road frame Im thinking of getting:
http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3128
I know the road frame is alu and not carbon
and that this frame would give me a more upright seating position. Thats what Im going for. I want a bike for everyday riding and for amateur long races (300km).
What do you think.

looks like clip on aero bars, could just take them off, maybe flip the stem
otherwise i can see why not with a different frame0 -
Why not just take the clip ons off and flip the stem.
Everything on the cube will fit the Canyon fine. You might find that the seat post tube diameter means you need a different front mech (or possibly the cable routing for it, although both look bottom pull.) and obviously you need a different seat post. although I think Canyon include that in their fuselage deals.
The Canyon frame is a good choice for your intended use. also have a look around for a Cannodale Caad 9 or 10 and if you really wanted to save yourself some money the Planet X team Alu is a great ally racing frame.
Have you tried Classified road parts on here. for Swap or Buy on your old frame?0 -
The clip ons Will be taken off. The Canyon farme comes with fork, headset and stem. So only thing I would need to buy is a new seatpost. I dont think the frame comes with a seatpost.
I thought about just takning the clip ons off the cube but even with the stem flipped the riding position would be too forward for what I want.
I would love a cannondale caad or synapse 5 frame but Can only find complete bikes. Dont think they sell Them as frames only. Didnt think about the planetX frame have to look into that.0
