Finally completed my first century, did 110 miles in 05:50:51 and pass the 100 mile mark at 05:20 dead, i am really chuffed didnt take much to eat as well only three cereal bars and about 1.5 litres of sis electrolites, also managed to get sunburnt, could believe how many times i waved or said good morning to other cyclists today, also thanks for the tow from 5 guys near rochford, one had a very nice cervelo, the other a sky pro pinnarello dogma and one of the other chaps had an s-works!
Sorry its not me it's the bike ;o)

That's pretty rapid for a century. Nicely done.

Edit: Hang on, you're doing 220 miles a week. What took you so long to get around to a century

Nice one, very rapid (some of us are chuffed when we do a ton in under eight hours riding time...). Odd indeed that you're doing 220 a week and not got a century in the bag before!

When you're dong 220 miles during the work week, why would you want to spend your weekend clocking a further 110?

Very fast last 10 miles considering you had just done a century, are you sure about the timing? Did you save yourself up for the last 10 miles or were they mostly downhill?

  • it was pretty flat, wasnt sure how i would be in the ride, so quite surprised i think there might of been a slight tailwind the last 10 miles but it could of been the excitement of actually completing the 100

  • That is fast.

I have done 100 miles in 4 hours 46mins but I was using aero bars and wearing a pointy hat and a race number. Last time I did 100 miles as a "road ride" it was over 6 hours.
