Must admit my road biking knowledge isn't much, i do mtb a fair bit but i can't figure out which out of these 2 is better??

http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3072

http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3073

The other thing is size, my mtb is 17.5 but full sus so bouncy, my hybird is a M-56, guessing road bike wise i need the same size??

Could do with some advice before i order, main reason for canyon is oh has a nerve xc, which tbh has been great for her.

I know to phone up barclays before trying to pay to ensure everything goes through in the first order.

The bikes are almost identical except for the groupset. Its your choice of whether you prefer SRAM of Shimano. The weight difference is only 10 gramms which you are not going to notice.

ow tall are you? BTW frame size guides for road and hybrids are very different. Hybrids are closer to MTB geometry. the frames will be a lot smaller than a road bikes

5ft4 give or take, a lot shorter than i thought i was :(

The other thing is are there any other bikes i should be looking at, canyon mtb are massively overspecced when compared to the UK prices, the roadies are the same?? looks like £908 inc postage etc..

Smame height as my wife. She rides a 50cm frame Cube Peleton but her hybrid Cube is around about 47cm
  • If you click on the Frame Size tab you can work use Canyon's frame sizing tool... Works better on a pc than a tablet though.
Still trying to convince the missus of the n+1 rule...!

Did a check of Giant Defy against Canyon, Canyons xs is the same as giants m which is odd, but ive took the plunge and ordered the new bike, its in stock so hopefully next week should arrive.

Did canyons size thing, came out as xs, even popped to halfords and tried a couple of boardmans, hope i got this right.

From what I have seen, the XS or 50cm Canyon should be right for you. When it arrives, it may be worth getting your LBS to give you a bike fit. I don't ordinarily suggest bike fits but as you are unsure of the size I would do so to be on the safe side.

Think theres a problem with my canyon order, still no confirmation of shipping even though the bike is in stock and it wasn't a bhol in gemany on monday they have a double thursday/friday this week, so tomorrow is the last chance to sort it before they have a 4 day closedown.

Can't get through on the phone, got one email back saying they can't find my order, hhmm one of the perils of ordering online i guess, hopefully can get this sorted tomorrow.

edit: Just got confirmation of delivery, week 19 thats this week!!

Only bank holiday on Friday for nordeheinwestphalen where Koblenz is. Some other parts are in holiday on Thursday. Not all bank holidays in Germany are nation wide.

how easy was it to build the bike? I've being toying with getting one of these but put off by the "build" process, so any feedback on this would be great.

Don't be put off... if you can operate an allen key (supplied) and work a QR skewer then it shouldn't pose any problems.
