Hello ladies and gents of Bikeradar

I am looking at a new bike to replace my Giant Defy 2 2011 which I have upgraded over time and have settled on a few to choose between.

Pnarello FP Quattro Ultegra
Trek Madone 4.5 or 4.7
Boardman AiR 9.0

A open to comments, reviews, or any other bikes you think i should look at. Do about 200 miles per week and a sportive or so every other month.

Thanks

Madones are a safe bet, not as exciting as something Italian perhaps?

How do all 3 ride for you compared to each other?

Sure you will find plenty of owners of at least 2 of them on BR who will give good reviews of the bikes & TBH all 3 are pretty good.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
  • I have decided on not getting the Pinarello.

You tend to pay for the name. The spec levels and ride quality are just as good on the Trek if not better.
No between a Boardman AiR9.0 and Trek 4.7 Madone.

Not found many owners of either...

Put the three in front of me and I'd have the Boardman, the reviews are always great and you get more bang for your buck, the Pinarello is a name and the Trek is......... just a Trek.

Put the three in front of me and I would ride all three and I'd have the one that rides the best for me.
  • I was informed that the Boardmans are good but its finding a stockick i can get too. I may have to make the effort to find a Boardman Elite stockist.

I have a test ride next week on the Pina and Trek at one LBS.

did you get a new bike? I am also looking at the trek 4.7 which looks a lot nicer in the shop that it does in the pictures.

Bike Science in Derby are a stockist of the Boardmans, they also do Kuota which look very smart.
