I'm driving a Fiesta. Are those racks that go on the back of the car a good idea or not?

If you wish to carry your Fiesta while riding your bike then yes :-)
Seriously, if you have a need to transport a cycle with your car then they do fulfill a purpose.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
I just got one and didn't fancy the speed limitation that boot racks all seem to carry so got a Thule Outrider (roof mounted) - speed limit is 80mph so that's fine - all the boot racks I could find said limit of 50mph. Plus I just coulnd't work out how the bike could be secure if its was hanging on a rack but the Outride locks in the front forks which seems much more sensible to me. Plus you can open the boot while bike is on the rack easily.0

Would a roof mounted one fit a Fiesta then? I really have no idea. Driving to races after work so far has involved sticking it inside the car with the seats down.0

Inside the car with the seats down is THE best solution.
No aerodynamic losses,
does not require too much faffing about,
more secure,
and most importantly you do not forget it is there and go under height restrictions e.g. car parks (crunch)!Yellow is the new Black.0 -

Check the Thule website for compatability - AFAIK they make a Foot Kit (fits roof bars to car and bike carrier fits to the bars) for just about every car there is - http://www.thule.com/fitguide/default.a ... &Market=GB0 -
Saris bones rear racks are great. But if there's lese than 3 of us I put the seats down. My mare got two bikes inside an Audi tt so you'll manage. I don't trust roof racks to not ripped through my frame and not fill my headset/bb with crud if its wet."Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0
