Garmin 500 not connecting to sensor?

I have been using my Garmin 500 for a good few months, I have a speed/cadence meter, it has worked great until now, I replaced the battery but it is not showing the connection, I have pressed the reset button light flashed red and pedaled but nothing no green light. The arm is positioned correctly to the magnet and I have searched for the meter , What should I do now?

    Try this.
    Menu, Settings, bike settings, bike 1, ant+spd/cad, yes-search.
