Hi,

I've recently acquired a Pompino which has 120mm rear spacing and am now on the look out for a wheelset for it.

The bike will be used primarily for commuting.

I have a budget of £150 (max) for the wheelset, does anyone have any recommendations or reviews of wheelsets in that budget?

Thanks

Get some Planet X flip/flop hubs and a set of reasonably priced rims, like Halo Aerorage or Ambrosio Excursion from Wynsanley bikes or Planet X and get them built... I think they will come at around your budget and you get something properly built instead of some piece of crap.
If you pasture around south London, I can build them for you, otherwise, plenty of good people dotted around the land

    Hi Ugo,

I've had a quick look at Planet X hubs but they only seem to have one flip flop hub and its in gold!

I wanted all black if possible.

I'm not in the London area though unfortunately.

Would something like this be suitable for my needs? Helps keep me under budget - which I don't want to do by too much if it sacrifices a lot of quality.

No idea how well/badly built they are... they seem a reasonable punt and can be trued/fixed etc...

Sorry for the outrageous thread hijack but I've got a rear Mavic Ellipse in the classifieds if that helps.

Unfortunately it would be out of my budget to purchase the rear (as much as I'd like to) aswell as buying a matching front. Also I don't think it would make a very good commuter wheelset with the low spoke count and not being able to fit a very wide tyre.
