Camera for Commuting?

Do many of you use a camera for commuting? I am considering buying one as I have had so many drivers nearly run me over when turning left and not stopping to see if I was hit or not, I have had one accident luckily I was fine and driver stopped and police were involved, I commute everyday, Is it worth the expense to have one just in case? Any camera that are decent at reasonable price?

You might end up like that tool off "War on Britain's roads" They aren't' cheap but the go pro is a great bit of kit
