Downsizing cassette, rear mech?
Hi,
I have SRAM Apex on my bike and it has an 11-32, 10 speed cassette, with the long cage mech.
I was wondering, if I wanted to get a smaller cassette (an 11-28 or an 11-25 as I like to spin) would I need to change the rear derailleur, the hanger or anything else?
Thanks

Nope - just adjust the b-adjustment screw for the new cassette. I'd even be inclined to keep the chain at the same length so that you can swap the cassettes over depending on hills to ride.0

Though if the old cassette is to be relegated to emergency horror rides only, there is something to be said for just keeping the chain with that cassette anyway. It's what I do with my 13-29. Clean matched cassette and chain ready and waiting for any horrible day in the Lakes I want!Faster than a tent.......0 -
