What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?

Very much depends on the rim... for shallow rims Dt 240 are not suitable, but they are great for deep rims. Hope are very good and so are PMP, never used the Goldtech...
What's wrong with Shimano? If you want a set of 32 and you are heavy Shimano 105/Ultegra are the best and Miche are not to be ruled out... expensive does not always mean better.

OK thanks Ugo. I'm looking at H Plus Son Archetypes.... what do you think? What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?0

1) I think they are out of stock
2) I think Shimano are the best deal out there... not only they are the best hubs for heavy load, but they also build with the best tension spread on the rear wheel. If you do want sealed bearings for easy replacement, then Miche are very good and so are Novatec 171/172/Ambrosio... Hope have better seals and a better free hub (than the Novatec), but 100 pounds extra for a couple of seals are hard to justify, unless you want to buy British... Shimano also come with the best QR skewers on the market
I wouldn't buy into the concept that if you spend 300 pounds for hubs, then they must be better... they are lighter, but not necessarily betterleft the forum March 20230 -
Also considering some new wheels will be following this thread, the h plus rims look good and appear reasonable value, anyone know when they will be back in stock and suggestions on where to look for hubs (any discounts mainly that are worth checking for?)

I was told around the 10th of May...
For hubs, the usual suspects... you should be able to get 105 around 50 pounds, Miche around 70, Novatec/Ambrosio at 80 or lessleft the forum March 20230 -

Consider the DT Swiss 350 hubs too... their free hub design is very clever and can be serviced without any tool... last a very long time too, compared to normal pawls/ratchet. The geometry of the flange is a lot more benign to shallow rims than the 240... bit pricey though, but not outrageouslyleft the forum March 20230
