Newbie looking for advice.. frame build project

Hi guys,
While new to the forum I have worked in the bike industry for the best part of a decade. I am after a little assistance as I have been off the road for some time and now looking to ease myself back in to it by building myself an audax or winter training (bit late I know) bike. The problem is that I only see a select few frames during my working hours (Genesis, Spec, Scott etc) and don't really know a great deal about the less mainstream brands, like Ribble, Dolan and the like.
What I am basically asking is what frame would you suggest I go for? I love the Genesis Equilibrium and can get one with Cromo fork for under £300 but would have to go for the Burnt Orange colour :? and would prefer a carbon fork.
Any suggestions are welcome. I'm 5ft11.5 (the extra .5 very important obviously) so would be looking at something that is made in either a 56/57 cm frame.
Thanks in advance.

I've got a 2012 Equilibrium and I'm very happy with it. It's red and I think I prefer that colour, but I don't dislike the orange - looks very Merckx.0
