Bought these recently and was going to fit them before the weekend (more rain forecast) but the instructions that come with them are piss poor.

It looks like you have to remove the brakes and hang the mudguard from the bolt behind the cantis, but it's not clear. Does anyone know if this is right? Also, is there any potential problems with taking the cantis off? (New to road bikes though pretty proficient in MTB tinkering).

Cheers gang.

Yep just as you say you hang the mudguard from the calliper bolt. At least that is the case with my defy 2010, I believe the newest defy has different mudguards to mine but I am fairly sure they work the same way.
Couple of other things that I found are that the bolt was just a wee bit short so I had get some thinner washers. I also had to make a washer for retaining the rear mudguard on the seat tube. I found the parts supplied ended up with the rubber retainer pulling through the slot in the mudguard - may have just been my bad luck with a bit of poor manufacturing.
I get 25mm tyres to fit with some careful set up...
