Looking for a road bike preferably carbon. that looks good aeshtically and will be most used for club runs.
Somewhere in the region of £1500, and with at least tiagra groupset but I prefer 105. ive had my eye on the specialized Roubaix sport but it just looks boring. Any advice would be appreciated.

The Cinelli Seatta from wiggle will allow you to spend the money saved (as its on sale) to buy a nice set of wheels or try looking at the Van Nicholas Ventus both great bikes.

both are comfy bikes and infinitley more exciting than a Rubaix.

Pauls Cycles have Cannondale Synapse Carbons with 105 for £1379.99. Might be worth a look.
  • I'm also looking at a Roubaix Sport but my LBS suggested a Raleigh Revenio Full Carbon as he doesn't stock Specialized. Anyone have any thoughts on the Raleigh over the Roubaix?

Ribble, Planet X, Canyon etc. Wiggle's own brand Verenti even. Have a look in the comic; they reviewed loads of carbon bike under £2k for the bike of the year

Where are you and what size do you need ?
Very impressed with my N2A from Planet X, both service and ride quality.
    Try 'em.

Quite like the look of the Raleigh, never seen it in the flesh though. I suspect the wheels will be on the heavy side but most stock wheels are.
Dont forget to barter for a discount, or freebies, whatever you decide to buy!

There is a code from Mcdonalds for 20% Raleigh at the moment. I tried it out and it seems to work ok for the Revenio Carbon....

    20% off Raleigh - Use code RALMCD - http://raleigh.co.uk/mcd/ Expiry 31st August 2013

Scott CR1 team. Full 105, £1599 if you shop around. Synapse carbon a good shout as well.
  • I've just taken delivery of a beautiful Ribble Gran Fondo with full 105 and Mavic Kysrium Elite wheels for that - very happy with it.

Has Ultegra RS 20s and weighs 9.5 kgs. You can usually upgrade wheels etc with Merlin too.

    This looks good too:

You will get a great bike for this budget, there's loads of choice. I would advise you to get the best frame possible, as the rest can be upgraded with time

  • I went for the Merida Ride Carbon 94. £1499, 105 and carbon frame. Loving mine so far - although I have nothing to compare it against as it's my first road bike.

Bianchi Vertigo is what you need. The stock model without upgraded wheels is £1,500 in most places - if you can get your hands on one!

  • Yes :P And thank you. Think im going to get a ribble as they give you a lot of options. Its not my first road bike so I shouldnt have to worry about sizing too much.

I am biased as I have a Canyon (now) but for your budget you really cannot beat this IMHO with 105 for £1559 with some sizes in stock
    http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3083

The sizing can be a bit funky if you have short legs/long torso (like me) but they really are great.

Glad your still with us

So what size are you after ? Helps people suggest actual bikes in the right size rather than bargains that are too big or too small.

TCR Advanced 3 with full 105 for £1300 I think beats it!

Which one do you have? I'm test riding the base Roubaix this weekend but looking at either the Sport or Elite models to buy.

Why not go for the AL9.0 Canyon, yes it's aluminium but don't get sucked in to carbon is best, it's as comfy if not comfier and stiffer than any carbon road bike I have ever ridden and that includes wilier, spesh, trek etc. £1500 for full ultegra and mavic elites....it's a no brainer.
