really hit and miss, both in quality of finish and in sizing. I've had one that was so tight it took a dangerous amount of effort to remove it, and another so loose it would drop a bottle on rough roads! You may be lucky of course.
For me, Elite customs are great for the money, and specialized Rib Cages are great for subtitle styling, low weight and ease of use. I have a pair of matt black ones on my matt finish Cento Uno.0 -

I bought one cos it was cheap, and black and white like my bike, but I liked it so much I got another one.Is the gorilla tired yet?0 -

Mine were bad in more ways than you could imagine a bottle cage could be bad! On the other hand, the Elite Customs I have are almost faultless. The complaint being the rubbery bit which is white and therefore shows hard to remove dirt.
On the other hand, they aren't beautiful unlike the wildly expensive Look cages on my Look. These are faultless in every way but price but you will go to hell if you put any other cages on a Look!Faster than a tent.......0 -
The Elite are used on the Pro tour if i'm not mistaken, thats all the info you need!Cheers, Stu0

Elite Custom Race as used by Sky Pro Cycling and others are as good as you'll need. Cheap and plenty of different colours, but black or white look best IMO.

Blackburn Camber Carbon Fibre Cages are absolutely brilliant and have a lifetime guarentee.

They come in matt or gloss finish and are very secure.
Obviously this comes at a price - circa £35, so far from cheap, but boy are they nice. And remember they have a lifetime guarentee.
I have used them for a while now and they are just as good as the review suggests.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
+1 for the Blackburn Camber
I have 3 and they all look like new after heavy heavy use.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
I would go Elite. Enough colours to match your frame and used by the pro peloton, so can't be bad...0

Has anyone tried these as they look a bit of a bargain for an 18g cage:

5 year warranty and look sufficiently bling without being too in your face.
There's also a matching side entry model:

Pain sending back to Germany though if they turn out to be rubbish.0 -
Elite cages get used by some teams, but then so does the Arundel (Garmin) and the mighty Tacx Tao (Omega, Blanco, Saxo, Katusha).
The latter is light as a feather and matches every bike frame colour :-)0 -
I envy the people that have £35 spare to spend on items as mundane as bottle cages. Wait, no, envy is not the right word.
For less than a fiver you can get a perfectly light functioning bottle cage made out of ABS or glass fibre. Its just not something I can get excited about - far better bling out there to spend your cash on.0 -

Just admit you really want a Blackburn one 8)
Nothing big or clever about it - I just liked the look and given the bike was built for a fraction of the RRP I thought why notYellow is the new Black.0 -
Can't believe that no one has suggested the Planet X carbon cages - matt or gloss black, £30-35 for a pair. Good solid well designed cages, only critisism is the labeling/wording on them. Would look better without it IMHO.A person who aims at nothing is sure to hit it

I bought 2 of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310422096766? ... 1497.l2649
Didn't bother with any insurance/upgraded postage, they arrived about 12 days later. I figured they were worth a punt at that price. Couldn't be happier, they're finished well and work perfectly.0 -
I have always bought Tacx Tao cages and never been disappointed. But I may give the Blackburn camber ones a go, they do look well made ....0

As others have said Elite, I have the polished aluminium ones, they grip bottles v well even on our roads but are easy to get bottles in and of.0

I've got a Zipp Carbon cage, it looks fantastic, performs flawlessly, and yes it was expensive. My wife has an Elite cage, it looks very good for the money, performs very well indeed, and she is very happy with it.
Would I swap my Zipp one for her Elite? Not a chance in hell.Ridley Orion0 -
