Hi,
With summer around the corner I want to get a new jersey with matching bibs, something nice.
I had bought this:
http://www.singletrackbikes.co.uk/m4b34 ... eed_Jersey
But had to return it as PI's sizing is optimistic at best.
I want something in medium, with a black / red / white theme, up to £125 / 150.
Any suggestions welcome

It's above your budget, but maybe try Cervo Rosso. The pad they use in their shorts is excellent as is the overall quality of the kit.
There's a bundle avaialable for £242 but if you contact them first, you can get a Test Team discount code for 15% which brings the price down to £206.
You'll then get 20% off any further purchase made in the following 12 months.

Just had to reign myself in, in the (excellent) Triathlon Shop in Bristol from buying Castelli Prima Jersey and Presto bib shorts. The Mrs is getting a bit suspicious about rising credit card repayments!
Think this fits your budget and desired colour scheme. Evans have them for £67 and £60 respectively.Pride and joy: Bianchi Sempre

Seriously? £242 for a top and shorts ?
Just get plain black shorts and then they go with anything.0 -

Seriously? Over £200 for a pair of plain black shorts?0 -
Quality costs money unfortunately. I didn't think the Cervo Rosso stuff looked to bad, certainly not over expensive.0

I know but some still choose to believe otherwise. In the last 10 years, amongst others, I've had shorts from Giordana, Craft, Pearl Izumi, Assos, Cervo Rosso and I even tried a pair of Aldi shorts.
In terms of all day (5+ hours in the saddle) comfort, the Cervo Rosso shorts are hard to beat. Assos are okay but I found the pad too thick.0 -
The most comfortable bibs I have owned were Rapha's Classic bib shorts. They looked great and I forgot I was wearing them...on 100 mile+ rides. BUT (quite a big but)...they're not cheap....and the stitching came loose on the 1st pair I had after 3 months. Sent them back for a repair (they sent me a brand new pair with apologies). The same thing happened to the second pair! I sent them back for a refund. I may have been unlucky...?
I have several pairs of Assos. They are incredibly hard wearing...but (for me) not the most comfortable bib on the market. However, when you compare them next to the likes of Endura, etc....they stand head and shoulders above. It's all relative.
Other on here will hate me for this...but have a look at the Assos factory outlet website for cheaper jersey/short combos.Never mistake motion for action

Yes, the Mille pad is a bit thick, but I find it comfortable enough. I have a new pair of FI I3 bibs (the ones that you linked) which I have high hopes for, but haven't worn them yet due to the weather. Thus Sunday looks to be the day...
I think I may try some Cervo Rosso gear too, the colour scheme matches my BMC How does the sizing compare to Assos? I am 70kg and 6' tall, Assos size L.0 -
I have the F1 Uno but my experience with the pad was enough to put me off trying other models.
There's a sizing chart on the cervo rosso website (http://cervorosso.com/sizeguide) but I have L in Assos and in Cervo Rosso (5'11" and 80 kg). They seem to use an exchange rate of 1.4 but with the real rate being 1.2 the € prices are cheaper on the Cervo Rosso site than the CHF prices so I always pay in €!0 -
Are there any retail outlets for CR, or is it mail order only?
I've looked at the website in more detail, in particular the returns policy and they will only accept returns on unopened items. If the item has been tried on for size, they won't accept it. (at least, that's how I understood it).
Not very helpful if you can't try stuff on anywhere for size and if you buy something from the web and it doesn't fit, you are stuck with it!

Robbo, you've misunderstood. It says....For product exchanges for an alternate size, we accept the return of items if they are unopened (except in cases where the item has been tried for fit) and in their original condition
So if you've had to open it to try on for fit then that's okay. Just leave the swing tags attached. I've just returned some overshoes which were too big. I'd taken the tags off aleeady but they were clearly unused and I just included the tags in with the return. If all else fails, they have the 60 day return policy which is based on 'functionality, style and performance' so even if you're not happy with the kit after trying it, you can still return it. I'm not sure that there's many other companies who will accept not defective goods back for up to 60 days.0 -
Thanks for replies.
Any views on the Castelli Velocissimo range? Are they a pro/race fit range or a bit more forgiving?!
If anyone has spotted any good deals on this or anything else let me know!!0 -
velocissimo jerseys aren't what you'd call an 'aero' fit like a lot of top end jerseys are now but they are still a fairly race fit.
Bobshop is often good for photo's of jerseys on actual people: http://www.bobshop.de/en/Men-s/Cycling-Jerseys/Short-Sleeve-Jerseys/CASTELLI-Velocissimo-DS-Short-Sleeve-Jersey-anthracite-white-red.html?force_sid=q6f3kmksu4bnlh2j4sujt2t3t60
