Swapping Freehub bodies

Just bought some second hand wheels which have DT Swiss 240 hubs and currently fitted with a Campag freehub. Just for my sanity I am seeking to confirm that all I need to do is swap the freehub body for a shimano one. Is this a simple job, the DT Swiss manual looks to make a meal of it.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

It will have to be the Shimano version of the freehub body that fits that hub though - you can't just plonk any old Shimano freehub body on it.

I understand that the freehub needs to be compatible hence will be a DT Swiss 240 Shimano freehub, however different suppliers sell freehubs, cassette hubs, hub bodies et al at differing price points so it follows that I need to get the right one and then work out how to remove the campag one and fit the shimano one. The DT Swiss guide says about fixing the axle body in a vice and pulling the wheel upwards which seems strange to me.

Yes - that's easiest way to get the freehub body off.
