Wheel/Cassette question.

Is it bad if your cassette doesn't make a ratchet-type noise when you spin it?
I ask because I changed the cassette on my Mavic CXP22 wheels from a 9 speed SRAM to a 10 speed 105 (remembering the spacer) and it seems to be operating fine, i.e. it turns one way, but not the other, but there's no ratchet noise. Whereas on my spare wheel i use for the turbo, which is a Shimano RS500 it does make a noise.
I didn't notice whether the Mavic made any noise with my old cassette, I think I only noticed because I spun the cassette by hand after fitting the new one.

The ratchet noise is not from the cassette but from the freehub body. Some make a noise some are quite quiet - depends on make. If it is working fine then don't worry about it.0

Awesome, thanks. I was worried I might have whacked it on there too tight or something.2015 Specialized Tarmac Expert Ultegra

Took my (Shimano) freehub off last night, picked out the seal and drizzled oil inside. Back on the bike it's nearly silent when freewheeling.0
