Saddle Height - SPD allowance???
Firstly hello to the Roadie section!
I am having a bit of a re think of how I ride. I am moving controls and things around to become more comfortable.
One thing that has always crossed my mind is the age old saddle height conundrums.
Just wondering (I have searched round a bit); I have always used the barse to floor (barefoot) multiplied by 1.09, also known as the 109% method.
But obviously I am stood barefoot, when I cycle I have socks, shoes, cleats and pedal thicknesses to contend to.
I have heard of the Eddy Borysewicz system, but never done it.
Does anyone have any thoughts system for allowing for shoes, cleats and pedals?
Thanks in advance.

I just use the 109% method to get roughly the right height, then tweak it after going for a few rides to get a height that feels right. Don't just go by what a formula tells you.
Road - Dolan Preffisio
MTB - On-One Inbred
I have no idea what's going on here.0 -
Yep, I've found you sometimes have to move up to 5mm when just changing pedals - even shoes makes a difference due to sole thickness.
I think the above is right - measure to get rough position then tweak after trying it.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -
Ok, thanks.
I will give settting it at 1.09 then add 5mm before a bit of playing around.0
