Help - mysterious inner tube problems
For the past 3 weeks I've been having issues with various wheels (& therefore various tyres) keeping their pressure or in some cases seemingly puncturing.
If this was the same wheel & tyre I'd obviously examine thoroughly for something in the tyre, an issue with the rim tape or a protruding spoke etc. However, as this is happening across different wheel set-ups it makes me think there is something more mysterious happening.
Only issues I can think of are either my track pump or the continued cold weather (moved last summer & my new garage is considerably colder than the last one as it isn't part of the rest of the house).
In terms of my pump, I've been using it to switch between pumping up Schrader & Presta valves (having only ever used it to pump up road tubes before my daughter got her new birthday bike). I'm thinking maybe the gauge has become unreliable & what appears to be 100psi could actually be more & therefore stressing the tube to too high pressures).
After removing the tubes from the tyres they often then pump up again & hold air, although a couple have then exploded totally whilst I was inspecting them.
The tubes & tyres are both various brands & the valve lengths vary too, from short to 80mm long for my deep rim carbon clinchers.
Any suggestions? Having been a cyclist for 20+ years & used track pumps for almost all of that, I'm not exactly an inexperienced two-wheeled convert. Never known a run of such frustrating luck with my wheels, even punctured my turbo wheel 3 times in past couple of weeks.
HELP ;-)

If I was you I would suspect your wife is tampering with them to force you to spend less time road riding and more time with your daughter ...
but perhaps you are a better father than me ...
wouldn't really be difficult when I think of it :oops:0 -
I would suggest the above two posts are probably right.
Road - Dolan Preffisio
MTB - On-One Inbred
I have no idea what's going on here.0
