Grease oozing from Shimano 105 SPD-SL pedals

I bought a pair of 105 SPD-SLs for my new bike. After a weeks of riding I've noticed that there is grease oozing from the drive-side pedal. I didn't notice this with my last pair and there is nothing similar happening to the non-drive-side pedal.
Have they just over-greased it during assembly?

Happened to mine. 5000+ miles later they are still fine. Probably just excess grease.0

This reminds me of what what my dad used to say about any car with a Rover V8 in it.
Son if there is no oil on the floor under the car be sure to check that the engine actually has oil in it :-)Yellow is the new Black.0
