Cube Bikes Agree GTC SL DI2 2012 size

Hi there,
I am 6'1, long arms, long torso and 33' inside leg. I have a large Boardman carbon and a large Specialised secteur elite and find both comfortable, the Specialised more upright and comfy, the Boardman more sporty and fast.
Do you think a Cube Agree GTC SL DI2 2012 in a 60cm frame would be OK as I am aware they come up rather small. I am nowhere near anyone that sells Cube bikes so can't really try one out.
Are they any people out there that ride a 60cm cube frame?
Thanks for any feedback
SL

As a German brand, they are sure to make sizes for tall people like yourself. Its usually getting stuff in smaller sizes that tough in Germany. I think they assume the entire nation is 6ft tall and blond.
Looking at the sizes you give, the German website recommends a 56 frame. Not sure if this helps any.0 -

Is the official website and has a geometry guide.

This is where I get the sizing from. They are very reputable, bought way too much stuff from here and they are very trustworthy.0 -
Well as it happens I have just paid a deposit on a Cube Agree GTC SLT and in a size 60cm. I am 184cm tall but have an inseam of 91 cm which is nearly 36 inches BUT this is my inseam measured with pressure into my crotch area like sitting on a saddle which is clearly not the same as inside trouser leg measurement. So depends on which your measurement is.
Now I was thinking a 60 or 62 in the Cube for me but the lbs advised that the 62 would mean a longer tt and thus longer reach which he thought would be too much and uncomfortable for me. I was concerned that the 60 cm looked small for my long legs but lbs said it was ok so I have trusted them!! I did feel ok but the true test will be when I get it out the road so hopefully I have made the correct call on size. ( only had a small test ride today).
This thread has me doubting it now. Hopefully someone else will confirm mine is correct.
So based on my size and measurements I would say a 58 cm for you.0 -
If in doubt, email your measurements to Cube or a Cube retailer and ask them.0
-
I did manage to email a retailer and he thought a 58 might be too small for me. It's so frustrating I can't just test ride.
I too am doubting so I'll feed back when the bike arrives and hopefully we will both be happy.
Thanks for the replies guys, I'll be back soon to feed back how I get on.
Cheers

Avit, , I just measured my inside leg from floor to right up against my jacksie and it's 35 inches. I'm 1cm taller than you so pretty much identical stats.
Let's see how it goes!Cube Agree GTC SL DI2 2012

I pick my Cube Agree GTC up next weekend so hopefully the weather will have changed for the better by then !! I presume you ordered the 60 cm then ?
I was looking at the DI2 version but the lbs couldn't get hold of one in my size . Suppose I should have ordered the DI2 from a web site shop as it was roughly the same price as the 2013 I have ordered but heyho its too late for me now.0 -

What size did you go for Rando and how tall are you etc?

You will need a 58" frame not a 60". Im 6ft 2, 32 inseam, with a Cube Agree GTC Race. They dont come up that small, also i have just shortened the stem to 70mm as i was locking my arms which are average length for my build.0

Would a longer inseam though mean a larger size would be more suitable? I am only 6ft and a little bit but seem to have long legs according to most bike shops with a inseam of nearly 36inches which is why the 60 cm frame was my choice. I am worried that a 60 will be too small and a 62 wold have been better but none available to try at my lbs.
My thinking is that the more seat post showing raises the drop from saddle to bar thus placing more weight through the arms and shoulders. Maybe I should have gone for a bike with a larger head tube like a Focus Ergoride or Cannondale Synapse. It is so hard too judge on such a short test ride. Getting buyers remorse now!!!!!!0 -

But if you buy a 60" or 62 then at your height im guessing your top half and arms are normal, which means you"ll be stretched out reaching for the bars either way. Its a lot easier raising a seat than it is trying to compensate for a long top tube, you cant shrink that, and i think you'll find yourself stretched out with arms locked.
But you never know, it might suit you and i might be talking rubbish, i just know that i tried a Trek Madone 58", a Cannondale Supersix 58 and a Focus Cayo Evo 58 and size wise against them, i wouldnt have said the Cube 58 was noticeably different.0 -
Avit, I think we just need to get the bikes, set them up and see how we get on. 58 to 60cm isn't a massive difference, we have fairly long legs and I have long arms and a long torso.
I don't have many worries as I'm fairly flexible and on my 2 other bikes I have no trouble on the drops or hoods with some room to spare as well.
I was out on the Specialized this morning (I'm still freezing cold!) and felt if that was an XL i would still be OK. I do think we will be OK.
If they are the wrong size, just get a refund and buy another size. We can return for a full refund no probs, its our rights as a consumer.Cube Agree GTC SL DI2 2012

I'm 6 foot with an inside leg of 34 and have the 60cm. I've got along just fine with it but also ride an XL Boardman on an everyday basis (ie the Cube only ever gets ridden when it's bone dry) and the geometries are obviously different. The Cube was always fine and seemed spot on, but I've just had to flip the stem on the Cube as I did so on the Boardman a while ago and this meant a longer reach to the hoods on the Cube to what I'd become used to (it was always the other way around before flipping the stem on the Boardman, hence the Cube always feeling more comfortable) which I now find to feel ok again. When I rode Specialized I was always a 58. The Cube just seemed to fit when I tried it, but messing around with the Boardman meant having to then change the Cube.
I really need a bike fit...0 -

Moscow, this is reassuring and thanks for your input.
I also will only be using my Cube in the bone dry so lets hope for a good long dry summer!
How do the Boardman and Cube compare?Cube Agree GTC SL DI2 2012

Well the Boardman is a stiffer ride and feels racier, although I ride with heavy Durano Plus tyres on it. The Cube seems more designed for longer rides and comfort, although with some 25mm GP4000s on it, I can get more out of it than the Boardman in terms of speed. I've also just got new wheels built for it (viewtopic.php?f=40013&t=12911022) which already seem to be making a difference in terms of ride quality, although the DT Swiss it comes with aren't actually all that bad.
Riding the heavier Boardman most days and on the majority of my winter training rides makes me appreciate the Cube a lot more on the odd occasions I do actually get to ride it. The Cube is a lovely bike though, the smoothest ride I've ever ridden and an absolute joy to ride. You'll love it.
One thing though, make sure you check it all over when you get it. They're advertised with compacts yet I found mine actually came with a 53-39 double. Mine also came with a Tiagra chain and cassette, so I had to upgrade. If yours is advertised with Ultegra cassette, make sure it has one.0 -

You'll get them but they'll probably be Tiagra, you may get 105 if you're lucky but I'd be very surprised if this came with Ultegra cassette and chain.0

Quite sneaky I guess, do you think they take the good bits off from the factory spec and re-sell, then replace with cheaper parts?
I will contest it if that's the case, I expect the spec that Cube advertise though!Cube Agree GTC SL DI2 2012

No, the bulk of what you're paying for is the Di2 and the reason they can sell it at that price is by making savings on downgraded components elsewhere.0

I put the23mm GP4000's on my Boardman, best rubbers I've ever had so far and not 1 puncture in over 18 months. My Specialized has fat old Specialized 28's which are very grippy and make the ride smooth.Cube Agree GTC SL DI2 2012

The Cube should come with Ultegra cassette, certainly not Tiagra! If it came with that you have been ripped off!
I know two people who have the 2012 Di2 model and both came with full Ultegra, cassette and chain. So keep an eye out.0 -

Not if it's not included in the official specs of the retailer selling it. If they don't specify what it is then they don't need to supply it.0 -

Sounds like you bought a cut'n'shut, you sure its even a Cube because (including my bike) all the three Cubes i know of have Ultegra cassettes.
Check your frame number, might even have been a Fiat Panda at some stage.0
