Have recently got my youngest son a Triban 3 Junior and i am looking to get some better tyres than the stock Kenda Koncepts it came with. The sizes are 24 x 1 or 23 -540 only ones i find surfing the web are the Kenda's or schwalbe wheel chair tyres, I'm looking for something reasonably puncture proof as its not that easy as i have already found out twice, managed to get some innertubes but tyres struggling with. Has anybody had similar issues and managed to find something different in the past.
Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

I feel your pain. Just got my daughter a 2nd hand Trek KDR 1000 with "24 inch wheels". Bike came with Bontrager Racelites (25-540), which I'm guessing aren't particularly puncture resistant. I just got some Schwalbe Stelvios (think these were the forerunner to the popular Durano tyre) but managed to get the wrong size, 23-520. Gutted as not exactly cheap and the ebay seller doesn't take returns. They did advertise them correctly, I just failed to check. Didn't appreciate what a minefield this wheel size/tyre size this was.

SJS Cycles seem to do Schwalbe Marathons in 25-540, but very pricey. Hope this helps...

Although these a advertised as wheelchair tyres, I've got the 700x32 version on my singlespeed and they're great. Mine are the folding versions and only cost a tenner each from Planet X though, so these wired versions seem overpriced to say the least...

The Bontrager is pretty much the only other 'road' tyre available in 540, apart from the Kenda - which is usually OEM fit and not available retail. Having said that, the Kenda is a good enough tyre for youth riding/racing, so I would be inclined to just carry on using them.
