Cantis vs V-brake with travel agents

Hi,
I've been tryng to decide what brakes to put on the drop bars of my tourer. It seems to me that every type has a pro / con. I am putting fenders and a rack on my bike so standard road brakes and mini v's are out (not enough fender clearance). Disc brakes are out too as i don't have the frame (or forks for that matter).

I've come to the conclusion that Cantis are used most on tourers as they have good clearance for fenders and the rack, but i'd much rather have v-brakes for the extra power.

Has anyone used V-brakes with travel agents? Do they work well with drops? What's best, this option or canti's?

Don't frig about with cantis/mini-vs as I did. Save up and buy some MiniMotos from Pauls (http://www.paulcomp.com). They are superb. Designed for use with short pull levers - I use them with Veloce. They fit round mudguards too.

How much drop on the brakes do you have as there some extermely deep drop dual pivot calipers. Tektro do the like the R556/9 or the Dia compe A750 (these are centrepulls). A bit cheaper is the Tektro R369, these are all 55mm -73mm ish drop (the dia compe I think is 60-75mm). There are of course 47-57mm drop brakes as well. Of course this depend if your frame is designed to work with long drop calipers.

    Thanks for the replies.
Those Mini motos look pretty cool, I've never heard of them before. They kind of look like mini v's, are they really that much better? Might give them a try.

I'm not sure of the drop yet as i'm still looking for a frame - got my eye on a few beauties on ebay. I'll have a measure when get one sorted though. Just planning ahead at the moment.
