Best 2 bolt road pedals?

Hi, due to a bit of a long story that I won't bore you with, I ened up damaging the front bolt hole on one of my road shoes.
As such I can no longer use proper 3 bolt road cleats, only 2 bolt using the rear to holes.
I particularly like the real 'locked in' feeling I had with my old pedals (Look Keo) over the more floaty feeling I've found with SPDs and Crank Brothers pedals on my mountain bikes.
So my question is what's the best 2 bolt road pedals that feel the most like the Look Keos I'm used to?
Many thanks.

Would it not be possible to repair the threads from the inside of the shoe?? I've got to be honest - if it isnt then i'd rather buy some new shoes than put up with the mountain bike pedal options that you will be stuck with. I had Time Atac's on my MTB - and the feeling was much more vague than a road pedal0

No, sadly not repairable.
I'll confess - I rounded the head of the allen bolt whilst trying to remove the cleats. In a flash of inspiration I decided I'd drill the bolt out.
This would have worked a treat, except the heat from drilling the bolt melted the plastic sole of the shoe making a hole and so there is no 'nut' inside the shoe.0 -
New shoes would be good but I need new pedals anyway, so it'd have to be new shoes and pedals and that's pretty expensive.0
