Need a short stem, cheaper the better... but where?

Can't find any that I would consider a tidy price. They're all stupid prices like £50+ I'd probably pay £35 tops, and I still think that is extortionate for a bit of metal!
Any recommendations?

Haha, that would help. Anything from 50mm and under. Preferably 40 maybe. Would probably even go 35. There's a 60 on there at the moment and I need it shorter...0

Not particularly bothered about how much it weighs and I'm not hucking off any drops bigger than a couple of feet so not particularly heavy duty. I do more than xc though.0 -

Cheers. Having a think now how much difference a 50mm with 5 degrees rise will make over my 60 with 7 degrees rise. Not much I don't think?!0

I am using it now and that's why I'm thinking the difference will not be enough. Think I'll go as short as possible on the stem.0

Basically the bike is a bit bigger than I'd like, it's not mine but mine is out of action and I'm using this for the foreseeable future, I've rode it a lot and can get away with it but I rode some very steep stuff, with lots of drops and jumps yesterday and I found I wasn't able to get off the back as much as I'd like to. The seat is already as far forward as it can go.0 -
If you don't mind white there's a D31eight stem, bar & lock on grip combo for £22.08. I used to have the same set in black (still available but shorter bars) & can't fault them for the price.
Also, have you tried reversing the seat post (it'll look wrong but can help shorten the cockpit)?Statistically, Six Out Of Seven Dwarves Aren't Happy0 -
